Wonder if its with her approval - if not, I feel sorry for her, it must be weird watching someone else playing out your life, and would bring it home to her just how frail she is.

It's absolutely excellent! Meryl Streep gives the performance of her career (so far), and Jim Broadbent is outstanding, as is to be expected.

John Sessions as Ted Heath, though, is perhaps a leap of faith too far... :-)
>>>>it must be weird watching someone else playing out your life

She will have seen many people acting her during here life. She was also a puppet on Spitting Image when she was in power.

Many of the people who player her listed here:

Also for many years, when she was in power, there was a play running in London called "Anyone for Dennis" in which she was portrayed.

"who would play you in the story of your life?" is one of the questions people ask celebrities.

Elton wants Justin...

I am torn between Mel Gibson and Kiera Knightley to play me. But you could do a lot worse than Meryl Streep.

I'm sure Meryl Streep is brilliant, I'm not very interested in the MT story ........
>>>>Jim Broadbent is outstanding

Bit of trivia, but did you know Jim Broadbent was the original choice to play "Del Boy" in Only Fools and Horses, but he was in a play at the theatre and could not be released for the TV series.

He later appeared in a few episodes as Roy Slater, Raquel's husband and a policeman.
Ann - I was fortunate enough to be invited to an advance screening.

VHG - yes I did know that.
I don't think Lady T will be watching the film - her mental condition probably precludes her from keeping her attention on a film for its entire length. I am sure she is aware of her physical, if not her mental frailty.
I'll be going to see it next week. Jim Broadbent is one of my favourite actors :-)

What do you mean ansteyg?
I'm sure it will be another Oscar for Meryl. Whatever your views of her, it is sad that she will not be in a mental state to watch or make a judgement.
no nasty comments about Mrs T!
Amazing....I voted for her twice :-)
Is it a hagiography?
MightyWBa, do you know personation is a serious offence?
I have no doubt that the film will clean up at the Oscars - it's just the sort of thing that Americans love to love... ;-)
I won't be viewing, even though i am a big fan of Meryl Streep. I am sure she gives a first class performance, however looking at some of the trailers it just doesn't appeal.
So is Democracy then Sandy ;-)
Mightywba, as i did
Mind you one of the Elections I voted in was a School one..The European Communist candidate won ..Lol.
