When most 82 year olds, would not have a clue on how to cheat the benefits, here we have an 82 year old who was the ring leader of a migrant family of five who ‘broke every rule in book’ to swindle benefits.
He was handed a 12-month sentence, suspended for two years due to his age and ill health, was it fair that he got away scot free with his crimes?

He didn't get away "scot free" as you put it. He got a suspended sentence and, hence, a criminal record.
Are you advocating putting an 82 year old into prison, AOG? That's even sordid by your heartless standards. What about the costs of keeping him there, though I suppose that Ken Clarke could ask for you and your EDL mates to dip in your deep pockets and sponsor his incarceration.
And keeping him in there would block a place for a more deserving "student".
Or are you advocating something even more despicable like kicking him out of the country and away from his family?

/// Or would you applaud them for taking from the rotten stealing penny pinching government? ///
What an utterly silly statement to make, it is not the 'penny pinching government's' money, it is 'our' money this thieving conniving family have taken.
And yes if they had been white I would also have been equally outraged, but no on second thoughts I wouldn't, seeing that they should not have been in this country in the first place.
We have enough benefit swindlers of our own instead of them coming in through the back door.

I have always thought that government agencies such as immigration and the police, should employ criminals of all types because of their knowledge on how to fiddle the system, and use them to help them fight against further crimes from others. This gentleman should be employed rather than imprisoned; It would be cheaper, and the potential savings for the future would be enormous
Good idea Khandro....It was the States occasionally does.
I know of one guy, (strange man but brilliant) who was extradited from the US for 10000 cases of hacking - can you imagine reading the charge list out in court?
Anyway, he didn't go to gaol, rather to the FBI......
He is now free of that obligation and teaches Oracle to Oracle users.
