Walking holidays in the dales.

I'm looking to go on a short walking holiday (3 or 4 days) in the Yorkshire dales in late may, can anyone suggest good walking places, places to camp (camping is essential to me for a holiday) and any good places to sightsee. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Bainbridge, near Hawes is a lovely village, but don't know the nearest campsite.

Or Scotland is another place we were considering as it is easier and more allowed to wildcamp there. thanks for suggestions so far.
