I've just googled to find out the cost of the most expensive film ever made, and it come up with Harry Potter--Cleopatra--and many more.
No mention of "Ben Hur" Does anyone know, maybe come up with another list maybe? Ta muchly x
it depends whether they're adjusted for inflation or not. I think if it is, Cleopatra may still be the most expensive - but the millions it cost in 1963 would ahrdly pay for the star's trailer today. (Liz Taylor was the first person to be paid a million dollars for a movie).
Cheers jno, thats the link I came up with when I googled it.
I just thought that Ben Hur would have come up like a shot, as the best ever made. Oh well, thats satisfied my curiosity x
sometimes studios claim a film cost more than it really did, to impress spectators. Sometimes they claim it cost less, to impress the taxman. You shouldn't really take any of the figures too literally.
