Over active robot!
Everyone go look at "film and TV" thread titled "Who won?" asking about "Hit me baby". If you refer to the edition that was aired last night, it gets starred out!!! Why? Because you get the letter T I H S in reverse order and the robot kicks in. Watch.... "last night'* *** me baby".
AB - SORT IT OUT PLEASE!!! This is ridiculous. We are not children. Auto editing really is just censorship and we're meant to be allowed freedom of speech in the UK. Please please get your a*se (ooops, I mean bot) in gear!

But actually some of us are children - the aim is for everyone to be able to use the site (and there seem to be a great many questions that look as if they're homework problems), so I have no problems with profanity being edited out. In this case, of course, the robot has overdone it, but that's an argument for it getting its ears syringed, not for sacking it.
The Editor(s?) does/do have the capacity to "tweak" the filter, as hung6 says. When they first introduced it, it would even star-out Scunthorpe but it doesn't any more. Obviously.)
There are a few I want to test - all these used to be starred-out, but I'm not sure if they all are any more.

Dear Users,
As jno mentioned, profanity is screened for automatically and we would rather err on the side of caution since children use this site. Harmless posts are sometimes edited by mistake but we would rather that happen then have something illicit get through! Thank you for your patience and understanding.
