About two or three years ago there was a TV series about a man (I think his father used to own a big chain of stores) he became a laird, owned lots of land, and tried to bring back the original animals that would have roamed reindeer, boar etc. It was filmed in Scotland. They made the house into a hotel. They had a shop in the local town. I think he even owned the houses people lived in. Can anyone remember the series, what it was called, when it was on etc

Sounds like Monarch of the Glen but that wasn't a documentary
I think it was the man who owned MFI, and since they are no longer with us, not too sure if he still has his fortune.

MFI does ring a bell, can anyone remember the name of the series by any chance. It was def not Monarch of the Glen as this was not a Drama.

I think the hotel is called Alladale and the person was Paul Lister as far as I have been able to find out. Still can't remember the name of the program or when it was on
