Is it me, or is there an ever increasing sense of 'the king's new clothes' with this series. I've been watching it too long I think.

I'd like to remark how gratuitously unpleasant Annadomino's remark is, irrespective of her views on this programmes quality.

Which is the subject of Dotty's post - and in reply, yes, I think I agree broadly that the format has run its course. I think it has played an excellent role over the years - engaging people and forcing professionals to raise their game in terms of explaining their finds and making archaeological reports at least readable.
But it's like many TV milk-cows - they get tired - and many other brilliant history and archaeology programmes are around.
