New BBC weather graphics ?

I've only caught one forecast on the South Today news, but I found the rain diagram bit much better than the "Big Cloud Picture over the South of England" for showing me whether I was going to get wet. Pretty accurate too.

The overall view is excellent if you live in the south of England, pretty useless if you live in the North of Scotland.

Why all the brown?  Where's the 'green and pleasant land'?  (I also include Wales, Scotland and Ireland in this comment!). I can't SEE if its going to be sunny.  All beige and dark brown and bluey bits.  I don't like it and will switch channels to watch the weather forecasts in future.  So THERE Beeb!!!

Terrible! I thought I was watching channel 5 as they looked so tacky.  Apparently Look North regional news has also stopped doing their themed/linked place names on their weather map - which were fun. Any other regions used to have this? I guess they have had to update to the new brown map too.
