And thouroughly enjoyed myself watching Boys from the Blackstuff.
I hadn't watched it since its original broadcast and forgotten just how very real and good it is. Alan Bleasdale is a fantastic writer, and it's great to see familiar faces looking young.
Roy Cropper is in it!

The very sad thing is the politics of that show - high unemployment etc - is just as applicable today, except the sniffers don't have camcorders, long range lenses and CCTV.

Bought this DVD to watch over Christmas when TV is dire. Must have been something good on as I haven't watched it yet.

Virgin has it on the tv on demand. Watch it soon, micmak, it really is good old fashioned drama. A proper plot, real characters and a true reflection of the time.
