Having to constantly re-tuneTV for extra channels.

Whenever we switch the TV on, we are told to re-tune for new channels. This takes three minutes but we have done it so often, no new channels seem to be found. If we say no, the reminder keeps on coming back which is very annoying. How do we get rid of the reminder when it is not apparently true.
Help would be much appreciated.

I asked this question a while ago but I can't find it now. I asked it under the Technology thread and got some useful answers, there is a way you can switch off this reminder. I bought my TV at John Lewis and they helped me as well or perhaps you could ring the manufacturer. Try the Technology thread first, good luck, it is so annoying isn't it.

Just a guess but when you retune is there a further request to store before exiting the retune ?
I get that message too but as the switch over isn't happening till the end of May (in the meridian area) I assume that I need to retune then rather than now, so I'm just ignoring the message for now.
Same for me. It's been going on for weeks. I'm in the Meridian area and it's driving me mad. You retune but end up with the same number of channels. I'm ignoring it now. Are you in the same area as me ww?

But smurf it never used to happen, why now?
It did used to happen to me, months ago, before the switch over. I had to keep retuning and it was so annoying. It still does it sometimes but not as much and not since the switchover. Re the switchover, dont forget to retune your DVD player as well ... I lost some programmes because I didn't retune when they told everyone to do it.

Thanks for all your answers. We're in the West Country, one of the first areas to go all digital about 2 years ago. This problem only started a few weeks ago. I will try the Technology thread or try the manufacturer to see if they can help.
