How come everybody who was seen originly auditioning could actually sing? Why were there no really bad acts? And how come so many of them had either beein in previous bands, had singing careers etc?

The USP with this programme is that the Judges cannot actually see the candidates and so they are judging on talent alone and not how an act looks or performs.
I think they are trying to find a new twist and it is good to see folk who would not be considered conventionally attractive getting through to the finals.
My evil side enjoys the auditions in the X Factor but like many I switch off after the auditions. I suspect the commissioners have caught onto this and are trying to go with a format that begins with talent and ends with a star, and not losing to many viewers inbetween!
