Jubilee concert

Mr Q and I enjoyed it, especially Alfie Boe (Mmm) and Renee the opera lady (what a voice!) Ed Sheenan, Madness, Gary Barlow's song and of course the brilliant Tom Jones. Some were a little past their best (Cliff, Paul, Elton, Stevie W)) Shirley Bassey did very well. Annie Lennox was not up to her usual best. BUT what on earth was Grace Jones doing in the line-up anyway not to mention Cheryl Cole - being very pretty is not enough if you can't get the chance to mime. Jessie J was great, as was Kylie - I hoped she'd sing I should be so lucky! I'm so glad the weather didn't spoil the show. Feel very patriotic!!!

But, I have to admit that some of the 'oldies' were showing their age.I have always been a fan of Cliff, but by the end of his songs, he looked and sounded like he needed oxygen. But credit where credits due, what a spectacular; who else but Great Britain could put on a concert like that. Thankfully the rain kept off, which would have spoiled it,and it must have been great to have actually been there, the atmosphere must have been fantastic. But have to admit that the Queen did look a bit fed up,but she is 86 and is doing great for her age. Shame that Prince Philip was taken poorly, that must be a worry for her too....Just to add that Cheryl Cole was way out of her depth, just proves that she can't really sing, she sounded awful. The fireworks at the end were great and I thought that Prince Charles' speech to the Queen was excellent; it even looked as though she was getting a bit emotional with it. Well done to the BBC too, excellent coverage.
