Not sure where this goes! I have just set up a local group for children doing various activities. Its for children of all ages and their parents to come together, however there are some older home educated children who come along and i would like to be able to offer them the choice in dropping them off or staying. I know that for childminding you don't have to be registered for children over 8 but what about caring for them for a few hours at a group such as this? Does anyone know or know where i can find out? Ofsted website is not helpful at all.
Thanks very much
Your local council might be able to help, enhanced CRB will be a must and I don't think you can get one done for yourself, it wouldn't suprise me if the parents that stay need one too.
I know that according to my la child protection policy, over 8s do not have to be accompanied by an adult when in my place of work (a library). I know that is just for our area, but presumably it must be covered by law.
Already answerd on the other post but, just in case aims1202 has not seen it
Your idea that you do not have to be registered for children over 8 is WRONG !
You need to be registered if you accept money, even expenses only, to look after ANY child other than your own even in your own home. There is a full explaination on your other post . If you are taking any money for looking after these children you are breaking the law on child protection and care !
