Wiltshire Farm Foods

As I will be unable to get out to the shops for a few weeks, I've decided to order in some ready meals from the above supplier.
Just wondered if you might have heard good or bad reports on their food.

Have you actually placed an order and do you enjoy your food, i.e. is food just what you need each day or do you savour your meals?

If you aren't too fussy, are fairly conservative and don't have a big appetite then Wiltshire will probably be fine. If you enjoy a range of different meals then you might want to look at http://www.cookfood.net/

Thanks Eccles you may recall some time ago I was saying about going on a diet and I mentioned about how I tend to eat quite boring food and so I think these Wiltshire foods will suit me but hope they don't taste like hospital food. :-)

Don't know if it helps, but a lot of older people at the place I lived before, seemed to use Wiltshire Farm Foods as a meals on wheels service (don't know if that's an indication of the level of lflavour/choice). Hope you are not out of action for too long.

Not as good as M and S or Waitrose meals or Tesco finest in my late Mum's opinion.

I've not tried them myself but I do know that my 97yr old great Aunt described Wiltshire Farm meals as being 'old peoples' food!

The alternative is to do an Ocado or Tesco type delivery shop for different ready meals, might be worth a look?

I am a huge fan of waitrose. the delivery blokes are all lovely and will carry the stuff to wherever you want it. Delivery if free over 50 quid and you can say no substitutions or state the substitutions that you will accept.

I order these for my Dad every week, missprim - he does go shopping aswell, but they are a quick and convenient substantial meal. They do bigger meals, if the standard ones are too small.

The chap delivers them same time every Thursday morning. Conveniet and reliable.

my mum got them ,she wasnt too keen.i would go for suprtmarket ready meals,it will work out cheaper and have more choice

Haven't placed an order yet so will have a look at some of the others you have suggested.
I thought WFF had quite a good choice.

Couldn't be worse than some of the Meals on Wheels we used to deliver.

I get them now and again and I like them, alas the portion sizes are small - or perhaps my own portion sizes were huge. Give them a try as there is no commitment to keep buying them.

if you do a supermarket order, you can also get your other shopping at the same time which i find helpful for the heavy and bulky stuff.

When my friend, who was a marvellous cook, became too ill to cook she got Wiltshire Foods- delivered and placed in her freezer.She quite liked them-anything she didn't care for was scored off the list.

My Mother uses Wiltshire Farm Foods and really enjoys them, they have a very large range to choose from and you can get a 'sample pack' of 4 meals, 3 desserts I think for about £20 without any obligation.

My Mum likes the roast ready meals called "Kershaws" from Morrisons.

Just looked on WFF site to find it is actually owned by a German company 'Apetito' who are the main suppliers to many local councils for Meals On Wheels!!

Having taken everything on board, I've decided to give them a go as I am watching my weight so smaller meals would be better for that.
There's no obligation so will try for a week and see what they're like.
