apparently stan's dad jefferson spent �14000 on a theatre- this would make him a millionaire at the time- but the house stan was born in doesnt fit with such apparent wealth - any ideas?

I read a biography of Stan Laurel years ago when I was at school. It made no mention of �14000, but it did say that Stan had his own minature theatre in the loft, where he used to practice his acting. Hope this helps!
