Lovely fellow great writer, however always thought Melanie Skyes (gran daughter) only got a career becuse of who he was.

RIP Eric back with Hattie heaven will be a lot funnier.

i have just seen this on web news, very sad, great comic actor.
across the pond, another big name passed away, Andy Griffith, he gave Garth some early breaks in the late 80s, Garth and his wife have been posting their condolences to the Griffith family today.

Sorry to hear that, Eric must the the last of the good men. Clean humerous entertainment of the old school. Can't think of any 'old' comediens still living now.

In this article it says Eric was blind since the early 1990s - I didn't know that, I knew he was profoundly deaf but not that he was blind. Have they got that wrong?

i believe he had trouble with his sight from the 1990's
He was registered blind due to Macular degeneration.
