For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.That does make sense mycatis, you're all a lot more perceptive than me, I was gripped by the plot and loved the scenery, characters and everything, I believed they were living in the era portrayed and couldn't wait to find out what the 'scary monsters' really were and to get to the climax of the film....... and when I did I wanted to throw my tv out of the window! I feel cheated.
the villagers owned the land and made sure no planes were permitted to fly over it (as mentioned in the film!) the woods they lived in were private property, owned by them, so if anyone did enter them they would have been in legal problems.
i think the director did the best he could with a pretty stupid twist in an otherwise good film.
