I remember him in the Gentle Touch

Looking at IMDB, it appears they were both a TV series called 'The Price together for a couple of episodes
They were also in Play for Today, a TV series in 1977 - Thompson played a character called Chet in one episode

Not sure how or what names you are searching but it's Derek Thompson who plays CharlIE Fairhead

Any help?

No, you can't
IMDB is (i reckon) the most authorative site for tv and movie info, and one of its searches lets you find what films/tv series 2 actors/crew have worked on together http://www.imdb.com/search/common
