Did anyone else punch the air as I did at the end of this excellent drama? Top notch performance from Sean Bean as Tracie. Very thought provoking and beautifully acted by both leads.
I thought it was going to be sensationalised but was very pleasantly surprised to find a very sensitive approach to the subject matter. It fosters an understanding of the emotional needs of men I thought, who i always considered to be "strong"and "unemotional".Sean Bean and the other guy were absolutely amazing. If it helps us understand a minority group it...
I agree 100% Mrsspagnoli. Both Mr LL and myself thought it was brilliant. Best drama I have seen in years and wonderful acting. Jimmy McGovern is a genius.

You must watch it Sher. The trailers did it no justice whatsoever. It was such a sensitive drama and brilliantly acted. I am still thinking about it now.
I gather it is about a transvestite - feel bad now about calling it (in my head) Tranny Tuesday in Asda today (there is a man who is dressed as a lady in there on a Tuesday and I bump into her in virtually every aisle, I have no problem with it, it's just that she is so overdressed for Asda/shopping/a weekday morning).
It's basically about human nature and emotional turmoil Sher. It is not sensationalist in any way whatsoever and it made me feel really sad. The acting was first class.
I won't watch it now, getting a bit late, I will save it for tomorrow. Always felt bad that Sean Bean never quite 'made it' and cracked Hollywood. Thanks for the recommendation.
I also saw Sean Bean on the One Show. My sister and I can't take him seriously as he looks like so many men in Sheffield. Please note Martin Fry from ABC as an example. It's the viking background that does it!
I watched and enjoyed it but I hope it doesn't cause people to think that all transvestites are gay.
I have read that most of them are hetero.
Turner prize winning artist Grayson Perry says he doesn't dress as a woman, he is just himself in a frock, and comedian Eddie Izzard says he feels like a lesbian trapped in a man's body.
Any TVs out there care to comment?
I don't think whether transexuals are gay or hetro is an issue for this drama. However, the taunting he got from the crowd of blokes in the pub shows how just how ignorant some people are on the issues of sexuality. I presume that there must be transexuals that are gay too, but it doesn't really matter whether they are gay or transexual, they just like to dress like the opposite sex.
