I was hoping to buy Watership Down on DVD, but have noticed that it only seems to be available in 3 different volumes. I'm sure that there was only one film made (which I saw at the cinema years ago and later recorded from the TV). Could someone please explain what all that's about and is there a Watership Down DVD (one volume) of the film available? Many thanks.

There is a TV series of Watership Down, which I imagine is the three volumes you have seen.

Look for the contents copyright date. The film date will be listed before the DVD copyright date. The TV series was made a few years after the film.

The film was released on DVD in 2000.

The film was released in 1978 and had a running time of 92 minutes.

The TV series was 1999-2000 and there were 39 x 20minute episodes.

Thank you very much for your answers.
There is a "collectors edition" due out this summer on DVD with a few of the usual extras on it. Might be why you're finding the original dvd hard to come by.
