They have charged the man in custody with murder but are still looking for April.

My mistake, they haven't charged him but have re-arrested him on suspicion of murder.

this is a most unfortunate change of circumstances.

the question is - why is is now a murder charge? .. has the suspect admitted to killing her?
we can hope she is still alive - but after one week, we have to be realistic about things.

let us hope the body is found very soon .. and i join the rest of you in sending her family all my thoughts.

That's a tactic to allow them to hold him for another two days plus whatever extensions permitted by magistrates............I wouldn't assume that this equates to it actually being a murder, though, with the time passing, it increasingly looks that way.

I have doubted for a while the little girl is alive but the op makes it sound conclusive.
