Why does God hide away in secret ?

In the bible it repeatedly reports what God said but it's always in a loose unproven way. He supposedly talks to prophets privately, so the people for whom it is intended never actually hear it. e.g. Moses on top of a mountain
Sometimes he even uses a proxy to pass on a message e.g. Archangel Gabriel .
He supposedly talks to the prophets through dreams and visions but the prophets themselves all describe him differently.
In the Quaran he talked to Muhammad many times in a cave again when the prophet was alone.

Why the secrecy ?
If God wants us to believe in him and to hear his messages why not just tell us direct. Is that so difficult for a God who created the Universe.

its probable that many of these prophets lived lives of fasting in the caves of Judea and were semi delirious half the time. Its a powerful and awe inspiring thing to be alone in a mountain fastness and not too difficult to dream dreams and see v isions. Take a sleeping bag out in to
the Moors and you'll see what I mean.

Easy just speak to us in our own languages . His voice could be heard and he could be seen by everyone in the world . He could communicate with us physically and directly into our brains. No problem for an entity who created us and the universe. He doesn't need technology.
He is Omniscient or so we are told .

Modeller maybe God does "speak " to us but not in words . What about instincts ? What about feeling fearful about doing something because deep down you know that it would be wrong ?
If he told us directly in words , at what point would he stop ? Would he be "in your ear" all day ? Would he do it so that only you can hear (in private/secret) or would he do it so that everyone could hear ?

Clearly to remove all doubt must spoil whatever it is God is trying to achieve with us. Therefore he has to speak through me and not directly to the masses when a hint is needed.

That is my point ! Why not in words ? Why keep it secret if he wants us to know .
I have several bibles and on average they each contain over 60,000 words
all written by men telling us what we are supposed to believe about God but not one word comes to us direct .

cont You may choose to think they come from some supernatural source, but that's only your opinion . Those thoughts could be linked to the sense of survival . A sense possessed by all living organisms. Does that fly that you swatted have a message from God . It certainly tried to get out of the way. Do animals have a message from God when they run away as they see you coming. ?

Its an interesting philosophical discussion , I did say "maybe" it comes from God but I don't have all the answers - maybe I'm wrong !

Precisely ! And maybe it didn't ! So you are banking your belief on a Maybe. A feeling that is possessed by all organisms , which if you are right, means God is in contact with everything that is alive.
I hope you remember that before you swat that fly , it is in contact with God

If this imaginary God would have appeared and spoken to us all, then there would be no doubt about his existence and everyone would believe he is real. Thus, no excuses for pillage, rape and murder in the name of him.

Flies and insects play an absolutely fundamental role in sustaining life on the planet . Remember that before you swat one . Humans are much more dependant on them than the other way around .
