Movie name needed!!!

I'm having a mental block...I watched a film when I was younger (in the 80s) and I'm trying for the life of me to remember its name..but alas, the brain won't function. It was about a young boy who goes off in a spaceship (flying it) and when he gets back to earth he thinks he's only been gone a couple of hours, when in fact his family have moved house and about 20 years have passed. I can't even remember the characters name, only that I loved it. Any ideas?? TIA
