Will anyone really miss this show?
Two to three days to find what they are looking for, which generally turns out to be a few tiles, pieces of broken pottery, (which by the wonders of computer graphics turn into what the vessel once looked like), a few building foundations, or even different coloured earth, which we all know is where post holes once had been.
Then there are the characters, that guy Phil in the sweat stained bush hat (who incidentally seems to do all the hard work), Brummie Mick Aston in his multi-coloured knitted garments and seriously in need of a hair-cut, that Geo-phys guy with his mobile box of tricks, and finely our own Tony Robinson, who doesn't do anything really, except jumping in and out of trenches looking and sounding very excited for some reason.
I think it would be more interesting to see a load of guys digging in a land-fill site, so as to dig up a few modern day treasures.
