I have a low opinion of the Catholic Church - and it just keeps getting lower.
But I admit that whilst the organisation as a whole is just the Mafia in Frocks there are many individual Priests who actually do good and stand up for what is right.
I think he would be more fun is he was a bit more like Father Dougal or Father Jack. :-)

Sibton. Just finished watching this on BBCi player. He does come across as an honest and open person. He's not afraid to speak his mind and was open about his own suffering of abuse which must of been very difficult for him.
Towards the end of the programme you could see had had a sad and lonely life
but when he was told that the would be staying at his present church, his face lit up and showed a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
An interesting programme about an interesting man. Pity there's not more like him to speak out against the injustices of the world.
We have an exchange of pulpit at our church several times a year where we
get together with other churches. At the catholic service we were invited to stay for tea and fellowship afterwards. And I was quite embarrassed when the priest made a bee-line for my table . I needn't have worried he was very down to earth and had a great sense of humour. I love the way these meetings bring the churches closer together in understanding one another. After all we worship the same God. It's only the trappings that are different. Cupid04xx
