Looking for ideas on a UK location to take my other half for New years eve.... I was going to return to Paris, where we enjoyed Valentines day but I am restricted to a budget of £150-£200 including travel and hotel/meal etc.... But want to do something nice. Edinburgh is an obvious choice I suppose so is a short city break but thought I would ask.....??

Is that £150-£200 each or for the both of you?
It may be a bit late to think about Edinburgh.

For me it would be Edinburgh. Great New Years eve in the City but very, very busy. You'd need to book a restuarant and hotel well in advance, so perhaps cutting it a bit fine now.
You won't get much for £200. Stay at home, do all the cooking and really pamper your other half.
If you want to come to Edinburgh, you will need to be quick booking hotel and restaurants. New Year's Eve in Edinburgh i fantastic, so long as you are organised! lol
This is the site for tickets for the Street Party http://www.edinburghshogmanay.com/
I'll see you there New Years Eve then voddy :o)
Is there a catering firm near you? If so stay at home and pamper him with an expensive and romantic dinner.
Definitely Mazie! ;) x

Budget is approximate and would have to inclue us both.
If Edinburgh we would stay with friends which brings down the cost, I just dont fancy it this year..
I am wondering if to just stay in. However it is one of the rare occassions her kid is with his Dad over this period and we like to go out as sitting in the house is the norm for us!
I take it you want the party atmosphere and not a laid back retreat?
Sorry jd, for some reason I presumed you were the female other half.
