My G/daughters 6 & 8 are round, one is in the spare room watching a dvd the other in the lounge watching a dvd (they couldn't agree to the same one) there are colouring pencils & my printer paper everywhere with pics of me & G/dad with love poems, dolls up the hallway & they've just told us they are staying the night & have ordered sausage & mash for tea & can we have cocoa & biscuits before bed & a made up story from nan. Also they want shredded wheat with sugar for breakfast (Mummy won't let us have sugar)
Do you think we're being taken over? Do other Nan's let 'em take over.?
We definitely get taken over. Our 7 year old (sorry-seven and three quarters!!!!) granddaughter stays with us every Tuesday night. She takes over our lap top, which will change at Christmas when she gets her own, although she doesn't know that yet, our bedroom as well as her own, dolls in the sitting room etc etc.
We took her out to town yesterday to buy her some clothes for Christmas. You think Victoria Beckham is fussy?
I have a video of the kids when they stayed over when little.
I cant watch it as it makes me cry! Reading them stories in bed was magic.
The look of concentration on their little faces while they dozed off ---- BLISS.
I feel sorry for my children as they don't have any grans, they see my dad once in a blue moon and himself's dad is 'estranged' - the youngest three have never met him.
