Range Rover/ Crimewatch appeal
3 Answers
Did anyone watch the crimewatch UK the other night?
A hot and run was featured and the car involved was a rare blue coloured Range Rover (parts were broken off in the collision and left at the scene).
Police said there are only 85 cars like this in Britain and it would take ages to trace them all.
Surely this is not the case with PNC and DVLA and if all local police forces were involved.
Hope someone dobs them in and they catch whoever did it but it just makes me wonder why the police can't be bothered to chase it up??

Had no-one told them just to liase with the DVLA and Range Rover to find out who the cars were registered to? Presumably they believe it isn't stolen as no-one has come forward to say their car disappeared, so it should be just a question of e-mailing all the addresses to the various regional constabularies and telling them to send an officer round to the address to ask a few questions!
Our police farce is constantly striving toward improvement and I'm sure takes great pride in adopting Americanised equipment and procedures, (e.g. Tazars, mace & armed officers). However, chains of doughnut outlets have not yet caught up with demand, therefore a patrol responding to an incident or enquirey has to take enormous detours to reach said information exchanges. Further delays can be encountered here dependent on proceedings in the big brother house or Chelmsford.
