I think she has maybe enjoyed being the "little princess" who they could all mother, but she has maybe realised how increasingly peed off they were all becoming of her and she maybe thought it would be bad for her in the long run.
How someone can go from not even wanting to see a mealworm to sticking her head in boxes of snakes, cockroaches and spiders the next day amazes me!

her career has stalled since corrie so her agent/agency has probably tutored her in how to play the game ...
probably the mistaken belief that watching her change from brat to heroine, conquering her fears, growing up - almost like a rites of passage drama - that the public would grow to love and admire her and she'd become a national treasure ...

they obviously hadnt considered the ridiculous pouting though...
