what happened to epople being famous due to their talents not their body or how close they can get to having sex on screen for a 'music' video.

The quote was by Suzy Quatro, who is being somewhat disingenuous here because she certainly used sex to sell records in her day, although far less overtly, because she was of her time. She posed for that bastion of equality and liberation - Playboy Magazine - wearing a leather catsuit.

The fact is, times - and culture - move on, and twas ever thus.
the entire point about pop is tom bind you to your friends while simultaniously alienating your parents, so i would say that mnodern pop stars are simply carrying on the traditions of their craft.
