anyone know who played "pauls" mother in this weeks episode, we know her face from somewhere, we missed the credits

Haven't seen all the shows up to date - I have 2 recorded and don't forget the final part is tonight.

Pauls mother has not been mentioned in any of the ones I Have seen and also looking at the cast list on IMDb seems you might be naming the wrong person as Paul.

I wonder if you mean 'William' and/or 'Lawrence' whos mother is played in 4 of the 6 episodes by Ronni Ancona - normally seen in Alistair McGown comedy shows?

William and Lawence's mother is Caroline played by Sarah Lancashire. Ronni Ancona plays the drunk Judith. Kate is Caroline's lesbian lover.
Great programme we have thoroughly enjoyed it and cant wait for tonights episode
