I realise that this question has been asked before, but do any ABer's have any genuine knowledge about the casting of the next Bond? (any employees of Eon or MGM out there?) Go on, be a devil, I won't tell anyone you've blabbed!

not much help but at an award ceremony the other month dame judy dench (plays M) had let slip that for casino royale, the next film, pierce brosnin had already signed the contract around the same time she did and that rumours that he had left were just a publicity stunt by SONY the new owners of the bond franchise to stir up interest in the franchise, she then said she couldnt believe everyone didnt know as she had known for about 6 weeks about it and didnt realise it was a secret still! She thought it had already come out about the truth and then said she better not say anymore just in case!

Yes, I'd heard that, but it's since been dismissed.I'd heard that Clive Owen will be too busy doing other movies (like "Shoot Em Up") to take the part, but James Purefoy has left the filming of "V For Vendetta" for "undisclosed reasons", thus putting him back in the running.I'd still like to see Clive Owen do it, though.

Yes, heard that one too.Supposedly Goran Visnic fro m "ER" is auditioning next week.The other main contender mentioned apart from Owen, Purefoy and Craig is Julian McMahon of "Nip/Tuck".Can't see that myself.

They have cast and contracted the next James Bond.

It is not a matter of speculation its..... Pierce Brosnan.

Apparently he relented on his price and they were happy to have him back.

Stevee, it is definitely NOT Pierce Brosnan in the next Bond movie ("Casino Royale").The fee was never the problem, Brosnan's age is/was.
