Virgin Connection With Tower Pc But Not With Wireless Laptop - Gosport

I have connection to the internet with my tower pc but when I turn my laptop on it keeps saying internet explorer cannot display the web page. This has been happening for a couple weeks now, I have disconnected all the leads and re connected, but no joy.

Have you checked that the wireless on the laptop has not been turned off?
Have you tried connecting the laptop to the router with a cable?
Have you thought of posting any additional details, like the make/model of the laptop, and the operating system you are running?

Make/Model of router would help too - is wireless enabled, what key security is being used etc

Sorry but I would not know how to check if its been turned off or not. Its an IBM thinkpad with windows 7 professional. Sorry but I am not very technical minded.

In the system tray (usually bottom right near the clock) there are probably a number of icons. Scroll over the icons and see if there is one relating to your wireless connection (probably has a red cross to show it is disconnected). Right click on the icon and select 'enable'.
