Watching BB last night with a mate and when Saskia said to Makosi 'you have dog breath', my mate said that was racist. I thought it wasn't and my mate was just being too politically correct. What do the rest of you think?

I don't think your friend was being p.c. , though if his or her assumption was that saying Makosi had dog breath was racist then I can only imagine he or she is making the link between dog breath and race and is himself/herself racist.
I dont watch BB but dog breath is a standard term for bad breath.  Sometimes we are more racist by not being ourselves and speaking out as normal.  I hope this makes sense.
How would it imply racism? I don't see the connection. The first time I heard this expression was on 'Hill Street Blues' and it was just an insult barked (excuse the pun) at a criminal lowlife.

I agree with delboy. My mate thought any time a white person compares a black person to an animal it is immediately a race issue, because it lowers there status to that of an animal. I of course disagreed that it was racist, it was just plain rude.
I wouldnt say it was racists it was a stupid thing to say to her simply because saskias that thick she couldnt think of anything mature to say so she name called. It does say in todays paper though that craig gets told off by BB for being racist towards mokosi, There jelous to death of mokosi because shes fab and there boring farts . T hats my oponion (spelt wrong sorry) and im sticking to it.Get saskia out.
Definetely not racist. If a white person called another white person "dog breath"it would not be thought of as racist. If you therefore make a distinction because the person is black, then you are being racist by treating them differently.
Nothing racist about that.

Thank you all for the your answers.

The term "Dog Breath"has nothing to do with skin colour.Looking through the files on Africa, you will notice that all tribes in that continant have pure white teeth. This is not so in Europe,as our diet contains more sugar in a daily intake than the Native African see's in a year.

If she has declined to take a toothbrush into the house,or has given it a miss is her own problem, not a stance for missy "big tits" to raise her voice!

She might be a bit more quiet when she finds out whats really happening

am i missing something here? when i watched last night i didnt hear her say dog breath? i saw makosi offer saskia the chance to smell her breath which she then did and proclaimed it smelt like dog s### or whoopsie as the tweenies may call it!

I think both quotes were said twiglet, their argument went on quite a while and Saskia was in full Vicky Pollard mode with machine-gun delivery.

ha ha....I have to agree with you there elgroucho.  Saskia couldn't think of anything witty to say, so she just acted like a spoilt child with all the name calling.  I hope she goes soon.

I don't think it was racist just a bit of  nasty comment by the sounds of it. But then I don't watch BB.

Would it be at all dogist do you think.

battersea dogs home are complaining on behalf of 112 dogs that took great offence to there dental hygene being called into question ;)
I don't think saying someone's breath smells like dog sht is racist, but I remember Saskia also making a comment to Makosi along the lines of "you've got a chip on your shoulder, you people are all the same" and wondering who she meant by "you people".

It would be racist if Saskia had made reference to Makosi's skin colour.

The only racist person in that house is Craig without doubt. I can not wholly understand his  reason for joining team Saskia. Most of his reasons for hating the divas are irrational. He is the one who is mainly responsible for the divide. Since he joined that group cross interaction between the groups deteriorated significantly.  His lack of confidence in himself is also (in his favourite way of saying it) disgusting

I think your mate wants to get a life!  It would of been offensive if they said she had monkey breath!  Too much time, not enough brain cells!

How on earth can that be a racist comment? If anyone thinks that comment is racist, then may i suggest they get some serious therapy......and QUICKLY.
