Been talking with some mates who we've had over for Sunday lunch about sitcom characters who are referred to, but are never seen.

The rule is - the character is never seen, but must have a defined set of characteristics.

We came up with the following...any more?

Mrs Wolowitz (Big Bang Theory)
Elizabeth Manwaring (Dad's Army)
Sheridan Bucket (Keeping Up Appearances)
Ugly Fat Guy (Friends)
Maris Crane (Frasier)
Stan Walker (Will & Grace)

Her indoors in Minder. That's going back a fair bit, though
mrs barraclough (porridge)
Ugly Naked Guy was seen in one episode.....from behind (ahem) lol

Beverley Macca...The Royle Family

I don't think any of us ever did see Mrs Slocums pussy. (Are you being served?)
She who must be obeyed (Rumpole of the bailey)
dolly mountshaft (the good life)
Clive (Gary's friend)....Men Behaving Badly
Mrs Rigsby? [rising damp]
Rumpoles wife, Hilda, did feature in at least one episode. An old judge took a fancy to her.
Tim Allen's neighbour in Home Improvement (you only ever saw the top half of his head over the fence.)

Reginald Perrin's mother-in-law, only ever seen as a running hippo in Reggie's imagination.
Thank you sandy, I forgot that
Don't think there was a Mrs Rigsby, was there? Well, not until Frances De La Tour (Miss Jones) accepted his proposal.

Happy to be proved wrong of course!
Miss Cathcart (Hi-De-Hi)
Miss Mountshaft and Mrs Dooms-Paterson (The Good Life)
I think there was a Mrs Rigsby. In one episode someone had passed away and Rigsby could only inherit if he could prove he was happily married. Miss Jonesstepped in but then, if I recall correctly, the real Mrs Rigsby turned up.
i'm afraid you DO see ugly naked guy in friends - in the one where they poke him with chopsticks cause they think he's dead
"The man who worked in the garden." Bill and Ben, the flowerpot men.
"Monkey" Harris (Only Fools and Horses)
bednobs, I forgot about that episode. The episode I was thinking of was when Ross wanted his apartment, went to see Ugly Naked Guy and became Naked Ross lol
Charlie from Charlie's Angels
Orson from Mork & Mindy
