Are Frankie Boyle's Jokes At All Funny?

And although the audience didn't find him at all funny, so much so that they booed him, and the fact that his act was scrubbed from the TV showing, the BBC still played it safe by explaining:

well, let's put it this way, he is definately not a popular comedian with the vast majority of the british DVD buying public, statistically, of all the Christmas stand-up DVD releases this last year, he has performed abysmally, Jon Richardson, Jack Whitehall, Michael Mcintyre, Kevin Bridges, Stu Francis and that nutter from that daft show have all sold in their dozens, Boyle's effory went untouched in the main.

he doesn't have any jokes he just takes the p155 out of the vulnerable. He's the classic playground buly who liked to pick on the kids that had some sort of disability. About as funny as an aperture in the crainium.

I would like to know who thought it would be a good idea to invite Frankie to a 'Comic Relief' event.

and comedian, and i know some don't like him, Michael McIntyre has outstripped them all, and he does it without resorting to kicking the vulnerable, producing such crude so called comedy, Boyle's last channel 4 ? outing was absolutely puerile, i couldn't watch.

I used to find Frankie Boyle funny at least occasionally. But not any more. He stopped telling jokes years ago.

Jimmy Carr - watched one of his stand up shows where he told a very offensive homophobic joke...which I was both disgusted by and found funny.

Go figure.

Can't comment on Boyle because I literally haven't seen him ever. I don't like panel shows to be honest, so much of his career has passed me by.

Sarah Millican however - brilliant.

I've never found Frankie Boyle funny - and I don't find his material the least bit funny. I do, however, believe he should be able to perform it so long as people are willing to pay to see him. We ought to be able to make jokes about the queen's illness, or kate's pregnancy if we so wish - and if we're willing to allow that, we have to put up with the jokes that aren't funny.

I found the 'unprintable' joke about Kate's pregnancy quite funny (or at least I found the version the DM printed quite funny). I didn't find the one about the Queen's illness particularly funny but hey, maybe some people did.
