Big Brother Silences?

Does anyone know what the "legal reasons" are for the silences on Big Brother, it drives me mad!!!

It's because the conversation may refer to individuals or organisations in a negative way, which could be construed as libel, either by the housemates, or by Channel 4 who are allowing the libel to be trasmitted. The 'live' segmets are actually delayed a few minutes to allow the programme makers to lower the sound if anything potentially litigious is being said by the free-speaking participants. It may be irritating, but it avoids Channel 4 being sued off the air!
And wouldn't that be a shame? They'd no longer be able to make this codswallop. Why couldn't they revolt?
Also, sound is muted if any of the contestants swear, being as the programme is transmitted before the watershed.
the prgramme is actualy shown 20 minutes later than it should be, wel big brother live is not live. i was watching on E4 and i think it was sophie asking alex for the time, he sed 10 to 11 when it was actualy 10 past 11 in real time.
