He was looking a bit menacing and a lot bigger than me. He was reaching for it and I said he couldn't have it and he winked at me in a really creepy way and walked away - just as well as couldn't have run away!
Really weird! It seemed after like it was some weird kind of joke to him but I have no idea what!
Yes - and I wish that I had taken a pic of it to share here.
I was walking from my caff to the bank, past a relatively new (and small) Thai place in Truro (Lady J may well know where when I say the British Legion).
Outside the restaurant an "A" board - written on that, "Man of the Day"...........
A few years ago I was walking through a shopping centre and some young girl came running up to me, screamed at me, then ran off back to her friends laughing. Think I was the victim of happy slapping or something like that.
It's playing on my mind a bit I have to admit, part of me feels a bit silly for feeling that (all kind of crap around here - inner city live and all that), I'm not good at confrontation if it's me (though am if standing up for other people) and it made me think more about my vulnerability, especially now I'm less and less mobile.
I think I'm glad I didn't say anything as I didn't want to antagonise him (have seen plenty of incidents kick off even worse when people have had a go back) but maybe I should have. It sounds like a weird thing to report to the police as he didn't do anything but I can see what you mean Iluvspikey.
Someone weaker than you may completely crumble, never mind if he takes it up a notch......look at the case of Joss Stone down this way and what the good citizens of Okehampton picked up on.......
You owe it to future victims and, in doing so, it may well help you exorcise your demons on this one.
On a random note, I was in a clothing store the other week looking at coats. I saw one on the end of a rack, looked like it had been shoved there from somewhere else in the store. Then I spotted a bulging wallet in the pocket?!?!
I stepped back from it, called over the nearest security guard and shop floor worker and we were all looking at it a big puzzled!
That's true DT. I'll see if I can catch one round town tomorrow, usually always a few patrolling round about in town - it looked like he was being weird with the guy I was waiting to speak to (in an info counter place) so they could go and ask him too, see if he said anything worrying to him as well.
No idea about the wallet, I left it with the store guys and they said they would deal with it, take it to lost property I imagine. I made sure they were uniformed up before I called them over, so I knew they were actually staff :)
