Well he did not reach those speeds. The camera in another car was tracking him. They were probably doing 80 mph. Most of the shots were edited in. They may have been taken, hours or even days apart. They are all put together to appear as if seamless. Dont believe everything you see especially with wildlife filming (lions chasing wildebeest especially, they are about 25 different lions made to look like one) and lot of staging involved.
Top Gear is rapidly becoming a bore, with these pointless lets see who can get there the quickest stories. Who cares? It is supposed to be a motoring magazine, not an excuse for Clarkson to show off to everyone that he can smugly drive a Ferrari across Europe. Oh look at me everyone. I get to drive all these posh cars which you peasants can only dream about. Arent I the big cheese.
You may think your'e a big cheese Jezza, but the plain and simple truth is you are a tw&t.
