Joining Audio Files

Afternoon you clever lot....
Right, my question. I have an audiobook that consists of 161 audio files, in mp3 format.
I have tried joining them all together via Windows Movie Maker but to no avail.
My question is, is it possible to do it via WMM but if so, would I have to do them in smaller chunks of maybe 10 at a time(then join those sections together), as it doesn't seem to cope when I try all 161 in one go?
Alternatively, has anyone used/got knowledge of Audacity? Is it easy to use? Would it suit my purpose? Any pitfalls/scams to be aware of if I download it?

I was going to recommend Audacity. You will also need the Lame Encoder in order to export mp3 files from Audacity.

When you say join them together, you mean so they run seamlessly into each track? if that is what you want you will need to do them all separately. otherwise I would just import them into WMM. in smaller chunks, a few at a time.
