After yesterday's threads on the Coronation and TV's I remembered this thread. Should bring back some memories for some of us who are in a certain age group.

Thanks for that Lottie , they certainly do bring back memories.

I had one minor claim to fame in the 50's. I was in a cinema where Kathlene Harrison made a personal appearance as the film showing included her and Jean Simmons. I didn't realise that she was walking up the aisle with the cinema manager, as I was talking to my mother, and just as she reached me (I was in the aisle seat) I said to my mother "I wish it had been Jean Simmons here" She stopped and said to me I will bring her next time. She relayed that story when she was on Desert Island Discs.

All I can say in my defense is that I was very young, but old enough to fancy Jean Simmons. Happy Days.
