Why has she been wearing a wig for so long in Corrie-has she been ill in 'real life'?

Just seen a photo in the papers today with her hair shorn supposedly for a story she had lice-in Corrie.Would appear to be an appropriate storyline to cover up something else.I am being nosey but am genuinely concerned she has been ill.
