Banks' last interview shows some real spirit.

I've only read the Wasp Factory, but I quite fancy picking up Stonemouth now. Anyone else read it? Does it come recommended?

Haven't read that yet, but I would recommend The Bridge

Makes me feel sad all over again reading that article, Ed. Sad he has gone. Stonemouth well worth a read, but personally I would recommend Crow Road, The Bridge, Consider Phlebas, and The Player of Games :)

I've read most of his books and aprt from the sci fi ones, I really liked them. I met Iain Banks on several occasions and he was ALWAYS a lovely, genuinely warm friendly and very witty man. Very sad loss. I hope he has a never ending supply of malts in heaven.

Complicity is great. I haven't seen the movie yet but I'm sure that's good. I couldn't get into the Bridge, just a bit heavy. He said the Bridge was his best work though. Didn't have the stamina for the scifi, maybe I'm just lazy.
