I think, yes, custody is inevitable.

I have very mixed feelings about this case. He was stupid and she was precocious, and so it will ever be.

It seems a shame that the girl is still infatuated with him. Hope that she can get over it. It doesn't sound like he's a nasty piece of work or anything, just... "troubled". She seemed to have problems too, if it comes to that. A sad case.

Yes. What with the custodial sentences given recently for those taking penalty points for what, in comparison, hardly seems to be the crime of the century.

I'm not sure a teacher who falls for a 15-year-old pupil is a paedophile, despite what the prosecution said. This is more about breach of trust than about child abuse; parents have to know teachers are not going to abduct their children.

Far too heavy a sentence - abduction by definition say: The action or an instance of forcibly taking a person or persons away against their will ...... she was fully consenting as far as I can see - and whilst the law says she was not old enough to make this decision, then the law is an ass .............. she is clearly in full possession of her faculties ........... I hope he is not given a hard time inside .......... and also that he serves far less than 5.5 years!!! Certainly not a paedophile!!
