...but having seen this I'll need to reconsider. If an ancient Egyptian statuette can move why not a more modern Irish one?

How funny.

It moves when people are walking across the floor and cause the shelf to vibrate. See how it remains still at night

But why do none of the others move? It would be interesting to know is it turning towards it home in the east.
Yes i thought it strange that it didnt move at night.
if i had some magical powers it would be a shame if i could only spin around slowly.
The others are a bit heavier Sandy :)
What a load of old tosh lol, I bet a rational explanation will be found very soon, assuming the museum would actually like a rational explanation, a moving statue will of course attract a fairly good bit of revenue perhaps!
Spooky..by night it had fully turned !

We might be witnessing the hand of Horus or Osiris at work here and all some can do is look for mundane rational explainations. :-(
It obviously goes to sleep at night. ;o)
//But why do none of the others move? It would be interesting to know is it turning towards it home in the east./

Because this one has a slight irregularity in the base allowing it to sit unevenly and making it pivot through a little vibration from people walking past it or it is being turned deliberately.
Have you run out of salt Sandy?
And I'm sure that whatever way it turns, someone will find a very good Godly reason why it turned that way.

Some doubts creeping in Sandy? aren't you a monotheist??

I don't discount the possibility that there are many roads to salvation. The goodly Egyptian who sincerely followed his faith is as likely to get to Heaven as anyone else.
Besides, in those far distant days Christianity wasn't an option.
Movement was caused by differential friction. Which was invented by God.
Bet they get a few more visitors now though. :o)
This is complete drivel, and it reminds of the story about a old lady coming back to Dublin Airport, after a trip to Lourdes. The Customs chap looks into her suitcase and finds hundreds of little bottles of Holy Water. He opened a few and says to the lady

"Madam, these appear to be full of brandy "

"Oh, sure to God, another miracle ! " she gasps.
"I used to believe that these stories were rubbish, but one dubious report and suddenly I'm a convert to a dead religion..."
Question Author
I wouldn't go as far as that. ^ It's food for thought, though. Numinous events are so rare that they merit wider publicity.
Did it "Walk like an Egyptian" though? :)
LOL at lazygun.
