National Lottery Backdown.??

a friend has told me that camelot have backed down and are not increasing the lottery from £1 to £2 in september but i cant find any proof. does anyone know if this is true or not.? thanks.

I think they are making a big mistake.
While we are on the subject, has anyone else noticed that when you buy a lucky dip (on any game) it not longer shows the letters LD after the numbers. I now feel I have someone else's numbers, even if I haven't.

I play twice per week and I'll either quit altogether or just do Saturday.

I can see no reason whatsoever for the charge to go up. Hopefully the number of people playing will halve thus cancelling out their increase.

I run a syndicate for few friends and we've already decided that when Camelot increases the cost we'll change to the health lottery. Almost every person I've talked to says that if the price does go up they're either changing to another lottery, or reducing the number of lines they play.

vakayu, I vaguely, and it is very vaguely, someone complaining that they had introduced Wednesday into the equation, as well as Saturday, and it was a case of well your chances of winning are so remote it really doesn't matter.

same as most people i play sat and weds..i have 5 lines on a weds and 5 on a sat..i shall not be spending £20.00 per week on the lottery when they change it, i shall just play on a sat,if at all..as has been said everyone should boycott it..

I only do Euromillions on a Friday now - you could be paying out all week if you're not careful. I'd rather keep the prices lower and have lesser prizes. The original idea was to raise money for good causes, not to make so many millionaires. It's damned hard to get any money out of the Lottery for local good causes (I know, I've tried) - I think the whole idea has lost its way.

It's strange how the jackpot is often won by just one player. Especially when you consider that there was one draw when 133 people each won a share of the jackpot.
