Is there anything on the roads these days , more naff than vehicles with loud exhausts and spoilers ?

Loud exhausts, spoilers and noisy music, especially when it's only the bass beat you can hear.

I've heard them called egoplates, Everhelpful, which sums them up quite well.
As regards naff, how about gold-painted wheels?

Yes, those cars that have been adapted to make a whooshing sound (like a piston) when the driver changes gear.

Oh yes everhelpful but only when they're on pimped up boy racer cars

Not when they're on the Jags of respectable people down the golf club!

Perhaps we should have a law that means that personalised number plates can only be assigned to cars worth at least 20 thousand pounds so that they can't be put on naff cars!

We have personal Plates, one on a Beemer, one on an Audi Avant,
but do understand not everyone can achieve that,

Personalised number plates are fine in certain formats .

E.g 125 FOC i.e one group of numbers and letters .

Definately naff when numbers are made to ' look ' like letters or mixture of letters and numbers in same group .

I quite like some private plates (mine especially!). I think of them as jewellery for your car?

It's the ones where people have used black screws to make certain numbers or letters look like something else (if you follow me...) that I find really naff.

Cars with non-standard headlights and tinted rear lights, but they've got the equivalent of 6 neon tubes underneath.

They are called spinners, Bazille, originated in the USA popular with the likes of Snoop Doggy Dog and those of that ilk.

Are yes the Corsa's, Punto's, Clio's, Feista's etc, lol back to front base ball hat and a drain pipe sticking out of the back of the car. Lot's of noise but no engine !.
