Sweden grants blanket asylum to Syrian refugees:

"“All Syrian asylum seekers who apply for asylum in Sweden will get it,” said Annie Hoernblad, the spokesperson for Sweden’s migration agency"
"Those granted permanent status will also be allowed to bring their families to Sweden."
Do we have the compassion of the Swedes in our fair country?

My friends told me that it was quite common for Swedish people to adopt orphans from other countries.
I hope Sweden will set us all a good example by their actions...far too much sitting on the fence over Syria for my liking.

I went to Sweden about 15 years ago on business.
As I was walking round the town centre with my Swedish work colleague I saw loads of Asian men sitting in a group in a local square.
I asked what they were doing there and he said that years earlier Volvo had needed more workers so had arranged to bring in Asian people to do the work.
Then they had had a change of plan and out sourced the work to another country so these Asian workers had now been laid off and could not get other work.
Bringing in immigrants and asylum seekers is NOT always a good long term solution, far better to help them in their own country.
Also, Sweden have had some riots recently about involving immigration so this may not go down too well.

"full" is a funny concept TTT - could you expand on what you mean by it? It changes from person to person when it comes to defining it.
Mikey, I think we could point out lots of different extreme groups in every country. Maybe a Syrian fleeing the pincer movement of militant fundamentalist Muslims and a totalitarian government quite fancies merely being harassed by the Swedish National Front.
Maybe Sweden are looking for more of this stuff for the national teams: http:// worldso ccertal k.com/w p-conte nt/uplo ads/201 2/11/ib rahimov ic-bicy cle-kic k.gif
I wonder if it's the fact that immigrants are expected to "become Swedish" whereas in the UK we've taken the approach of letting foreign cultures exist within our own?

/// We are not "full" tora....you may not want to receive any more refugees but its not because we are "full" ///
One of your knuckledraggers has woke up eh mikey?
It is time the likes of you woke up, no we are not full up if you count persons per acre, but where we are full-up which is more realistic is that the infrastructure is full-up.
Have you not noticed that there are not enough homes for all the people, not enough room in our overstretched NHS, and not enough school places, it has recently been reported that almost half of school districts in England will have more primary pupils than places within two years?
Could the reason be because we are 'FULL' and one of the reasons is because of this,

And what do you suggest we do then, as already pointed out by Gromit we have pledged an additional £52million, or is this not enough, do you want us fighting side by side with those rebels, in which case will you give your ultimate support and join the territorials or even just go out there and get stuck in all by yourself?
Just remember "actions speak stronger than words"
