My neighbour pays for her tv licence by direct debit, although the payments are going out of her bank account she has not had a printed copy of the licence sent to her. Does anyone know if these are still sent out to direct debit payers?

I'm trying to think when I last received one, certainly not within the last year. Mine runs out in July so maybe they have stopped printed copies, I'll have a google.
I pay this way and I get a new one sent every year.
Actually, rocky you've got me thinking now.

Thank you both, I tried the official site but kept going round in circles and was no wiser. When did you get your last one traci66?
they have stopped sending them yearly, i got letter stating the licence lasts 5yrs now so you dont get 1 yearly
Seems no licences are being sent out until 2016 as there has been no increase in cost, this is if you pay by DD.

Just had a look and the last one I received ran out in July of this year, so maybe they have stopped sending them, sorry.
You got me thinking - I pay for mine by DD.

I've just gone to the TV Licensing website www.tvlicensing.co.uk and checked my details, you can download a copy of your licence - it says mine runs out in April 2014 and a copy of the new one will come through the the post.

They're still sending postal therefore - rocky, go to that site and check yourself out!
^ it says on that site that you can switch to having it sent to you by email in future too, if you wanted to.
I pay by DD and haven't had a paper licence sent for the last 2 years.
so why can I download one which says it expires in 2014?

Thank you everyone for your prompt answers. I have just printed out the information from the link that rockyracoon gave it answers the query perfectly. My neighbour does not have a computer. Thank you again everyone.
thanks Rocky, that updates what I read!
I pay by direct debit and had notification that the licenses wern't going up so the licence you have now lasts till 2014 I think and they are just taking the same amount off you
