You're not thinking of Charlie Drake are you? I seem to remember him in convict stripes.
Roy "Sliver"Jay I think his name was and i think he was convicted of something and that is why he disapeared from the scene...........

Thats the one Peanut42.Thanks,what did he do to get convicted?
I don't know i just recall hearing something along those lines or i might have imagined it.........
I vaguely remember Roy Jay. His early 80s stand-up act was randomly punctuated with the words "spook!" and "slither!". He was apparently last seen performing in a bar in Benidorm in 2004.
Obviously we weren't "... all doing it tomorrow ..." were we?
I do remember that Roy Jay exposed himself on stage at a show and then stormed off stage in Jersey in the 80's because nobody laughed at his 'jokes'. He denied being drunk by all accounts but i think the business took a dim view of these antics and, whether as a result of this or not, seemed to disapear from our tv screens. Not a great loss from what i remember of him!
I was his Roadie in the early eighties. The reason I was employed by his agent was to get him to his venue and keep him off the drink. Sober, he was the funniest man I have ever known. Drunk, he was a real pain in the a*se.

I heard that he was last seen in Benedorm. I would like to know where he is now.
